City is primarily used to designate an urban settlement with a large population. However, city may also indicate a special administrative, legal, or historical status. A global city, also known as a world city, is a prominent centre of trade, banking, finance, innovations, and markets. Global cities have more in common with each other than with other cities in their host nations.
